Council approves intra-budget transfers, corrects missed 2025 salary in 2026 appropriations

The Miami County Council approved Transfer Resolution 1-20-2026 and an Additional Appropriations Ordinance on Jan. 20, authorizing departments to move money within their budgets to pay claims while leaving total budgets unchanged. Auditor Annette Phillippo told the council the transfers were internal budget movements to cover claims and that the appropriations ordinance corrected a salary omission from 2025 reflected in the 2026 accounts.
Both items were approved by unanimous votes (motions carried 7-0). The transfer resolution also includes transfers related to EMA, statewide E911 and LIT PSAP E911, per the auditor’s presentation.
