Planning office schedules Horizon 2035 open house Jan. 28 to gather priorities

Corey Roser, Planning & Zoning Administrator, told commissioners that Miami County needs to update its 2015 comprehensive plan and that Phase 1 will focus on collecting data and public priorities such as roads and tourism. He announced a public open house on Jan. 28, 2026 at the Miami County fairgrounds with two drop-in sessions, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., and said materials and a feedback website are available.
Roser emphasized this session is an open house, not a formal presentation, and said the Planning Commission will work on the update over the next year and will provide periodic updates to the board. Commissioners were reminded to loop the planning office into building projects for permit and contractor-registration compliance.
