The Miami County Board of Commissioners approved a petition to vacate a 12-foot north–south alley between lots 7 and 8 of Colaw's Addition in Moorefield (the North Grove area). Planning Administrator Corey Roser presented the petition, which was filed Dec. 5, 2025 by Constance A. Sumpter; public notice was published Dec. 31, 2025. The petition materials in the packet list the area to be vacated as about 796.09 square feet (approximately 0.02 acres).
Commissioner Brenda Weaver moved to vacate the specified portion of the alley and Commissioner Mark Horner seconded; the motion passed 3-0. The packet includes a plat map, property-owner list for abutting parcels, and parcel records showing Parcel 52-15-16-404-008.000-007 as the primary affected lot. The petitioner stated the vacation request is to allow a survey to combine lots.
