County agrees to accept mass-casualty trailer and supplies from state

Elko County staff described a mass casualty incident trailer provided by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health, that has been staged in Elko for several years. The trailer includes medical supplies, communications gear, a generator and climate control; public health preparedness had maintained it locally and the state offered to transfer ownership and supplies to the county.
County emergency management staff said the trailer would be a shared resource for fire and ambulance services, that the county would be responsible for insurance and maintenance, and that the transfer is subject to the state's final acceptance. Commissioners moved and approved accepting the trailer, pending the state's formal sign-off.
