Tioga County approves permits for Laurel Festival and recognizes Elkland American Legion centennial

The County Commissioners approved multiple permits to use the courthouse Green and parking lot for Laurel Festival events scheduled June 12–21, 2026, including Family Day, the Pet Parade, a Town Band performance, vendor set-up and the annual Queen’s Welcome on courthouse steps. The minutes list specific dates for events and additional community uses including Wellsboro Town Band performances (June 17, July 1, July 15 and July 29) and Vacation Bible School (June 22–26).
The board also recognized the American Legion Leon O’Bryan Post 428 of Elkland for 100 years of service. All event and recognition motions were recorded as carried unanimously in the minutes.
