The La Porte Development Corporation voted to publish a public notice to begin a 60-day comment period for a proposed North Side sound wall, with a project cap described by staff as "not to exceed $1,500,000." Staff told the board the amount was increased from a previously posted figure of about $790,000 to fund a 12-foot wall rather than the originally proposed 8-foot wall.
"This project is the North Side sound wall in an amount not to exceed 1,500,000," staff said during the presentation, and the board voted to accept the 60-day comment period. Board members had no recorded opposition and the motion passed by voice vote. Staff will publish the notice to start the formal public-comment period required for capital improvement projects.
