Commissioners approve emergency management increase and other FY27 line items

During a review of FY27 proposed budget lines on July 20, the Burnet County Commissioners Court approved Emergency Management line 4060 initially at $15,000 and then voted to amend the allocation to $30,000. Commissioner Damon Beierle moved the initial approval and the amendment; Commissioner Jim Luther Jr. seconded both motions. Both actions passed unanimously, 5-0.
The court also approved Veteran Services line 4050 with the addition of travel and mileage (motion by Commissioner Joe Don Dockery, seconded by Commissioner Chad Collier) and approved the Commissioners line 4010 (motion by Commissioner Damon Beierle, seconded by Commissioner Jim Luther Jr.). Several staff and managers spoke during the budget overview, including Brian Storer (Western Regional Radio Tower System Manager) and ED Hashbarger (Emergency Management interim coordinator); no action was taken on Western Counties Towers and some Road & Bridge precinct items were deferred.
