Burnet County adopts resolution remembering July 5, 2025 flood victims and thanking responders

The Burnet County Commissioners Court on July 14 unanimously adopted a resolution remembering the victims of the July 5, 2025 floods and recognizing the individuals and organizations involved in the response and recovery.
County Judge Bryan Wilson read the resolution, which states that the court “honors the memory of the victims of the July 5, 2025, floods and expresses its sincere sympathy to all families and individuals affected by this tragedy.” Kevin Naumann, executive director of the ARK of Highland Lakes, spoke in support of formally recognizing volunteers and partner organizations that assisted county residents during the disaster response.
The resolution directs the County Judge to prepare and issue Certificates of Appreciation to businesses and nonprofits identified through county records and recommendations from the Office of Emergency Management and other departments. Commissioner Joe Don Dockery moved to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Damon Beierle seconded and the motion carried 5–0.
The court passed the document to memorialize the county’s gratitude for first responders, volunteer groups, faith-based organizations and private businesses that provided equipment, labor, supplies and services during rescue and recovery operations.
