The commission denied a variance request from sidewalk standards for a proposed 22-lot subdivision at 5444 Oak Manor Way on Jan. 21, 2025. Commission Chair Chris Braswell and Commissioner Stan Hunt noted the rezoning and plats recorded in 2018 showed sidewalks; the applicant’s representative, Kent Henderson, confirmed sidewalks appear on recorded plats but are not mentioned in covenants. After discussion the commission voted 4-0 to deny the variance request. The denial means sidewalks remain a requirement per county standards and recorded plats for the development.
