Hall County Planning Commissioners voted 4-0 on Jan. 21, 2025, to deny Clean Eagle RNG, LLC’s request to rezone a 22.45± acre tract at 4212 Roy Parks Road for a natural gas processing facility. The parcel had split zoning and had been the subject of previous rezoning actions; the current request sought Planned Industrial Development to accommodate the facility.
Company representatives described operations and emergency protocols, saying two trailers would be active onsite and citing a 300-foot standard evacuation radius for a tanker fire. One adjacent property owner, Faye Pass, who is executor of the estate owning the property, spoke in favor and said she had no objections. Commissioners raised proximity concerns — the site is near two churches and an elementary school — and noted the applicant had not yet consulted the Hall County Fire Department about emergency response coordination. On that basis, and after discussion, the commission voted to deny the rezoning application 4-0 (Sosebee absent).
