Roadway maintenance update: Encore pole moved after being placed within 12-foot clear zone, Overton widening complete

On the safety issue, staff reported a pole installed by Encore within about 4 feet of pavement, inside the county's 12-foot clear zone. Roadway maintenance reminded the court that objects placed inside the clear zone carry liability for collisions, and Encore has agreed to move the pole. "Any object placed within that 12 feet... the owner of the object is liable for all collisions," the roadway official said.
