Road engineer Klincic told the commissioners the county added two dead-end signs and a supplemental left-side "no outlet" sign on Bromley Road after repeated truck turnarounds had damaged property and created safety concerns at a blind curve. Klincic said the department debated options but concluded supplemental signage was appropriate given sight distances and precedent on other local roads.
Klincic also invited commissioners to a demonstration the following day on County Road 14, where a company provided material to stabilize a 0.5-mile stretch using an in-place tilling and recompaction method; he said the demonstration is open to neighboring counties and will help the county evaluate whether the product reduces the frequency of maintenance. "We have a company that has given us enough of their material to work 0.5 mile to stabilize 0.5 mile of that road," Klincic said.
The court received the update as informational and the engineer said he would document the new signage procedure for departmental consistency.
