The Commissioners Court approved routine administrative items including personnel reports and the monthly payroll summary. Miss Lopez presented the personnel items and the court approved them by motion and voice vote; discussion noted that some auditor paperwork arrived late to the packet but that the items remained within overall budget constraints.
The county auditor, Rachel Long, presented invoices and purchase requests; commissioners approved the invoices and a set of purchase requests that included a follow-up pressure-wash invoice from a vendor who had previously cleaned the courthouse memorial. The court approved the requisitions and included the NB Pressure and Softwash follow-up request.
The court also took a closed-session matter under the medical-records exception (section 551.078) to consider a sick-leave request. After returning to open session, the court voted to allow the use of sick leave for the individual until the next commissioners court meeting.
Finally, the court considered a travel request for two employees to attend training in Houston. Commissioners approved the travel with the exception that a checked bag fee be removed from reimbursement to save approximately $70.
