The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and elected its leadership during the regular session on Jan. 12, 2026. Commissioner Linda Gerhardt moved to approve the agenda, a motion seconded by Commissioner Keith Kelly; the motion carried 3–0. Gerhardt then moved to appoint Mark Pruett as Chairman (seconded by Commissioner Kelly), and later moved to appoint Keith Kelly as Vice Chairman (seconded by Chairman Pruett); both appointments passed 3–0.
The actions formalize the board’s organizational structure for the year. Chairman Pruett reminded commissioners that Jan. 28 is Local Government Day at the statehouse in Topeka. The board set its next regular meeting for Jan. 20 at 9 a.m.
