Road maintenance updates, asphalt order and multi-county meeting discussed in Jewell County

Commissioner Brent Beck requested that motor graders go over dirt roads before harvest.
Ervin Underwood relayed a resident phone call about Webber black top and limestone used as temporary pothole fill; Joel Elkins said asphalt has been ordered and the county is awaiting delivery to repair the road. The meeting then included a multi-county session hosted by Jewell County with Mitchell, Smith and Osborne Counties to discuss road material cost differences, health insurance, solid waste fees, mill levy and employee raises; Mitchell County will host the next meeting in Beloit.
