Commissioners approve emergency budget amendments across county and ARPA spending

During the Aug. 26 meeting, the Commissioners' Court approved emergency budget amendments addressing unforeseen 2024 needs across several funds. Commissioner Tino Sanchez moved to approve the amendments, Commissioner Larry Hanna seconded, and the Court adopted them unanimously.
Recorded changes included multiple General Fund line-item reallocations (courthouse annex wages and janitorial supplies, sheriff salary and vehicle adjustments with $10,000 moved to firearms/safety equipment, and a $40,000 State Prisoner Expense entry). The Emergency Medical Services budget recorded an $8,000 increase in both revenue and travel expense; the Court Reporter Service Fund was increased by $5,000; and the ARPA fund recorded $57,365.52 in interest revenue with a corresponding $178,711.15 expense designated for the Law Enforcement Center.
