Fayette County commissioners adopt annual appropriation resolution and approve multiple fund transfers

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners adopted the Annual Appropriation Resolution for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025 and certified available resources under Ohio Revised Code §5705.36 at its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting.
Commissioner Donald L. Fleak moved the budget measures and Commissioner James D. Garland seconded. Among the board's actions were appropriation modifications (including moving $5,000 to Airport Fees and $600 to IT travel), advances totaling $59,821.24 from an Adena Fayette PERS fund to commissioners' advance in, and multiple transfers from the General Fund Transfer to line items including Dog & Kennel ($27,250), Senior Nutrition ($37,337.50) and EMA/HLS ($28,809.00). The board also approved an additional appropriation of $45,000 to MVGT - Roads, Equipment.
County Auditor Brenda Mossbarger certified in writing that total appropriations do not exceed the last amended official estimate of resources for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2026. The board voted unanimously on the measures (roll calls recorded as “aye” by Tony Anderson, James D. Garland and Donald L. Fleak).
The board’s actions included both short-term cash management (advances and transfers) and the formal annual appropriation resolution required under state law. The annual resolution and the amended official certificate accepted by the board are on file with the commissioners.
