Building Commissioner Conner Barnette introduced Ordinance #13 (CB #8), which would vacate a 66‑foot segment of an undeveloped extension of 2nd Street in Freetown, Pershing Township. Barnette said the plat had been created in the late 1800s or early 1900s and that the Plat Commission held a public hearing on Aug. 20 and voted 8–0 (1 absent) to recommend approval with no public opposition.
Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to vacate the 66 feet of right-of-way as specified; Commissioner Bob Gillaspy seconded and the motion carried with three yes votes. The board also approved the ordinance on second reading with no third reading required, as recorded in the minutes.
