Health Department to buy three vehicles, commissioners approve $102,225 purchase and fund transfer

Karla Hubbard of the Jackson County Health Department presented three quotes for vehicles: a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica Select for nurses to carry equipment to off-site clinics, a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (4-cylinder) to tow trailers, and installation of lights for mosquito fogging. She said the department will keep two older trucks (a 2004 Dodge Dakota and a 2008 Ford 150) and is willing to will those vehicles to the County Highway Department if approved.
Hubbard said the original bond appropriation for vehicles was $87,000 and an additional $17,500 had been allocated for HVAC, of which $15,225 remained available; she asked to transfer that $15,225 into the vehicle line so the county could pay $102,225 for the three quotes. Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to approve the purchase and transfer; Commissioner Bob Gillaspy seconded and the motion passed with three yes votes.
