Putnam County commissioners voted Aug. 5 to issue a courthouse access badge after the Auditor's Office reported a recurring need for evening entry. Tera Stevenson of the Auditor's Office said she "had been informed that Leslie Douglas who conducts the sex offender class every Thursday had requested a badge to enter the building." Commissioner David Berry moved to approve the request and Tom Helmer seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Stevenson told the board the class is normally held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., creating a recurring access need outside typical business hours. The approval authorizes a badge for that purpose; the transcript does not specify any additional access conditions or badge expiration terms.
