Commission appoints Sally Sanchez, approves warrants and routine business

The Lyon County Commission’s Jan. 9 action session included a set of routine approvals: the board approved the Jan. 2, 2025 minutes; approved warrants payable on Jan. 10, 2025 totaling $66,124.54; and appointed Sally Sanchez to the Main Street Board for a one-year term (Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025). The appointment motion was made by Doug Peck, seconded by Ken Duft, and passed 3-0.
Commissioners also reviewed payroll authorizations and took no action on permits. During public comment resident Bradley St. Bonnett noted a civic-engagement event at the Anderson Building and asked about the Economic Advancement meeting. KVOE reporter Tagan Trahoon thanked road crews and singled out Jim and Chip for quick road-condition information; Trahoon also thanked Commissioner Martin for his years of service and welcomed Commissioner‑elect Chris Bartel.
The meeting recessed for 10 minutes and later moved into a non-elected personnel executive session for an employee evaluation; the board reconvened and adjourned at about 10:55 a.m. The next Action Session is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
