The Morton County Commission approved two financial resolutions and several administrative designations during its Jan. 12 meeting. The minutes record adoption of Resolution 2026-2 (adopting GAAP standards for financial statements and reporting) and Resolution 2026-3 (salary resolution). The record reads: "A motion by Jim, seconded by Ed, UYV to sign Resolution 2026-2, GAAP Resolution (A Resolution Adopting Standards for and Financial Statements and Reporting) and a motion by JW, seconded by Ed, UYV to approve Salary Resolution 2026-3."
Commissioners also approved a 2026 mileage reimbursement rate of $0.70 per mile and designated Dream First and TBK Bank (Elkhart) as county banks. The board named Elkhart Tri-State News and www.mtcoks.com as the county's official advertising sources for legal notices and public advertising.
