Fort Hayes manager asks Ellis County to waive branch tipping fees

Brendan Ibarra, Fort Hayes ground manager, told the commission he has used the county landfill without charge for tree and branch debris for about six years and asked that the county continue waiving tipping fees for that routine maintenance. “I'd just like to request that we, waive the fees associated with our, tipping for branches at the county landfill,” he said.
Ibarra said the operation does not generate profit and that some winter weeks bring five to 10 loads followed by months with no dumping. Commissioner (speaker_1) thanked him for speaking and directed staff to place the item on a future agenda for formal consideration; Administrator Darren Myers (speaker_6) said the item would be added to the Feb. 3 meeting unless the absent commissioner preferred otherwise. The commission did not take action at this meeting.
