FCFC votes to recommend applying for up to $20,000 in SOS 3.0 prevention funds

At the March 12 meeting, Greg Parker explained that the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board has made SOS 3.0 carryover funding available for prevention work and that Wyandot County may apply for up to $20,000. Parker said the committee intends to request the full amount to purchase Deterra medication-disposal bags, medication lockboxes, medication-safety pamphlets and drug- and tobacco-safety materials for schools across the county.
Committee member Brad Batton moved to recommend the application to the full Council; Jason Fagan seconded. Robin Reaves recorded an abstention; the remaining members voted aye and the motion carried. The minutes do not record any amendments to the proposed uses or a detailed buy list beyond the categories Parker described.
