The Fayette County commissioners approved an intergovernmental prisoner‑housing agreement with Ross County effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026. Per the minutes and the recommendation of Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, Fayette County will accept Ross County prisoners at a rate of $82.50 per prisoner per day.
The agreement assigns responsibility to Ross County for ambulance/life‑squad fees and for a $50 per hour fee payable to Fayette County for medical escorts to and from Adena Fayette Medical Center; Ross County will also be responsible for all hospital care and related services for its prisoners. The contract term runs through the end of 2026 and may be modified, extended or terminated by mutual agreement; the full agreement is on file with county records.
The motion to enter the agreement was moved and seconded and passed by roll call.
