Wyoming County accepts NYSDOH grant and approves public-health contracts for 2026
Summary
The board authorized acceptance of a New York State Department of Health grant of at least $307,788 for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2030) and approved multiple 2026 health-related contracts and a Hillside Children’s Center agreement for $111,978.
The Wyoming County Board approved acceptance of a New York State Department of Health Bureau of Child Health and Division of Family Health grant to support Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs programming in a minimum amount of $307,788, covering Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2030 (Resolution 26-021). The board also approved contracts and service agreements for laboratory and medical examiner services for the County Health Department for 2026 (Microbac Laboratories, Erie County Public Health Laboratory, County of Monroe, National Medical Services) under Resolution 26-022.
Separately, the board authorized a Hillside Children’s Center contract not to exceed $111,978 for children’s mental health programs for 2026 (Resolution 26-019). The reappointment of Sarah M. Schafer, NP, to the Board of Health (six-year term) was also recorded in the minutes (Resolution 26-020). These items were carried as described in the Public Health Committee reports and are contingent upon available funds where noted.
