Commissioners authorize bridge design, telecom and jail repairs; approve vendor agreements

Fayette County leaders authorized multiple procurement and professional‑services items at the Jan. 12 meeting.
Jason Little, the county engineer, was authorized to enter a professional services agreement with Fishbeck Engineers for the Snowhill Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project (FAY‑CR09‑2.70) with a fee not to exceed $27,400. The board also accepted a quote from Granite Telecommunications for telephone equipment and services at the Fayette County Airport (one‑time equipment cost $236.62 and a monthly fee of $48.47).
In separate actions the board approved a Silco Fire & Security quote to repair a backflow line at the Fayette County Jail (estimated cost $4,554.50) and authorized a 60‑month Pitney Bowes postage‑equipment lease for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at $159.17 per month (billed quarterly). Each procurement action was moved, seconded and approved by roll call as recorded in the minutes.
The professional services authorization and accepted vendor quotes will permit the county to move ahead with design, communications equipment installation and safety repairs.
