Wyoming County signs tower and site leases as part of county broadband project; school district to get no-cost connection

The Wyoming County Board of Supervisors authorized several agreements to expand the county broadband infrastructure. Resolution 26-050 authorizes a Tower Site Lease with Tarpon Towers III, LLC for county equipment on Tarpon-owned towers with an initial five-year term, a monthly rental fee of $1,200 and a 3% annual escalator. Resolution 26-051 authorized a Site Lease Agreement with Saia Communications, Inc. for county equipment with an initial five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026 and an annual license fee of $3,300 (payable quarterly; 2% annual increases).
The board also approved an inter-municipal cooperation contract with Letchworth Central School District (Res. 26-052) to allow the district to use the county’s fixed-wireless municipal broadband network and to provide no-cost internet for school operations at the school property. The broadband actions were carried as part of the Finance Committee agenda and are contingent upon available funds and final contract execution.
