The Fulton County Board of Commissioners reorganized for 2026 on Jan. 6, electing Commissioner Joe Short as board president and Commissioner Jon Rupp as vice president. Commissioner Jon Rupp nominated Short, and Commissioner Jeff Rupp seconded; the motions carried in recorded roll calls.
The reorganization was formalized under Resolution 2026-003, adopted in open session in accordance with Ohio Revised Code §305.05. The board recorded the appointments as Joe Short — President; Jon Rupp — Vice‑President; and Jeff Rupp — Commissioner. The commissioners announced that the Board President will serve as the county’s official representative to the County Commissioners’ Association of Ohio, with the vice president as alternate.
