Wyoming County board enacts 2026 pay increases for several county officers

The Wyoming County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 13 enacted Local Law Introductory No. I, Year 2025 (Resolution 26-055), increasing annual salaries for several county officers for 2026. The measure, approved during the board’s regular session, sets the County Clerk’s new annual salary at $96,160 (an increase of $2,801), the County Treasurer’s at $100,586 (an increase of $2,930), and the County Sheriff’s at $128,773 (an increase of $3,751). The County Administrator’s compensation was increased by $3,870 to an annual equivalent of $132,870.
The law was enacted following a public hearing held at the board meeting; no written public comments were submitted. The local law specifies the increases are effective as of Jan. 1, 2026 and notes the law is subject to permissive referendum. According to the adopted resolution, the law will take effect 45 days after adoption unless a petition under Municipal Home Rule law is filed. Clerk to the Board Cheryl J.
