Ottawa County awards $456,300 wastewater disposal contract to Midwest Compost

The Board of Ottawa County Commissioners voted Jan. 13 to award the Portage/Catawba Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Disposal Project to Midwest Compost, Inc., the low bidder at $456,300.00. The motion was moved by Commissioner Donald A. Douglas and seconded by Commissioner Mark E. Coppeler; Commissioners Stahl, Douglas and Coppeler voted yes.
The action was taken on the Sanitary Engineer’s recommendation and the board authorized the president to sign the Notice of Award so the contract process can proceed. County staff will review the bids and implement the award according to procurement procedures.
