Commissioners authorize online surplus auctions and approve travel allowances, including zero-cost trainings

The board authorized use of GovDeals/PropertyRoom or similar internet-based systems to dispose of surplus county equipment and approved travel/training allowances including zero-cost events and budgeted travel lines for DJFS.
The board approved a resolution authorizing county departments to use internet-based systems (GovDeals, PropertyRoom.com, or similar) for disposal of surplus equipment for calendar year 2026, subject to Ohio Revised Code auction requirements (Resolution 2026-0022).
Commissioners also approved travel and expense allowances: a resolution covering zero-cost trainings and use of county vehicles when appropriate (Resolution 2026-0020) and a separate resolution authorizing travel budgets for DJFS staff and all-staff training with line items of $20,000 and $34,761 respectively (Resolution 2026-0021). County Administrator Jennifer Hutchinson noted there are zero-cost trainings, meetings and webinars that this resolution will cover.
