County Engineer Donald W. Eason recommended awarding RA-CCP 19-04-26 (FDR and surface treatment on County Road 54) to Chilton Contractors Inc. as the lowest responsive bidder at $343,039.04; Commissioner John Forbus moved to award the contract and Vice-Chair Brandon Davis seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The commission also approved the highway department's purchase of a 2026 Kenworth T880 dump truck and a 16-foot Logan dump bed for a combined price of $228,550. Engineer Eason provided the formal bid recommendation in writing: "I recommend awarding the project to Chilton Contractors Inc. in the amount of $343,039.04." The purchases and contract award were placed on the commission's procurement and capital-outlay schedule.
