Commissioners approve sheriff’s contracts: jail food price change, interlocal policing agreements and vehicle purchase

Clark County commissioners on Jan. 7 approved multiple Sheriff’s Office-related actions, including a contract amendment with Trinity Services Group Inc. to increase inmate meal prices and extend the contract term six months (Resolution 2026-0007) and a contract with the City of New Carlisle to provide five deputies and one sergeant for 2026 at a contract value of $946,393.44 (Resolution 2026-0008).
The board also approved interlocal dispatching arrangements (Pike Township, Village of North Hampton, and a reauthorized contract with the Village of South Charleston) and authorized purchase of a 2025 Ford Interceptor (VIN 1FM5K8AC8SGB59619) for $47,700 to replace a wrecked vehicle (Resolution 2026-0016). Sheriff Chris Clark told the board that a previously discussed contract with German Township was signed as of the day before the meeting: "the signed contract is in hand as of yesterday." The resolutions were moved and carried by roll call vote as reflected in the minutes.
