Coosa County Commission authorizes letter of support for AltaPointe Stepping Up program

The Coosa County Commission voted unanimously March 10 to authorize submitting a letter on behalf of AltaPointe Health Systems in support of the ADMH Stepping Up Initiative. Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath moved for approval; Commissioner John Forbus seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.
The submitted letter states, according to AltaPointe, that "AltaPointe Health anticipates that it will serve 30 distinct individuals in each county over the course of the contract period, October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027." The correspondence was offered to show the agency's capacity to partner with the county on services for individuals with behavioral health needs. The action was recorded under the consent/new-business portion of the meeting and will be included in the commission's files for the Stepping Up application process.
