Commission OKs 8-Mile Road culvert option priced at $37,500

Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch recommended that Wabaunsee County replace the culvert on 8-Mile Road with option #1, a Horizontal Ellipse Bolt Together Structure measuring 14'3" by 9'9" by 50', at a cost of $37,500. Commissioners present agreed to proceed with Hinch's recommended option.
Hinch said the structure will be delivered in about eight weeks and assembled on site. He noted alternative options considered included installing two smaller tubes in the existing space or using a single radius multiplate arch with concrete footings.
