Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch told the Commission that APAC was the low bidder for the Mission Valley Road chip/seal project and recommended accepting that bid. He also recommended accepting Shilling Construction's low bid for mill and overlay work on Maple Hill Road and Warren Road, citing satisfactory work Shilling completed on McFarland Road. Commissioners agreed and signed the bid acceptances.
Hinch reported crews were installing fencing at Bridge #13, bringing Wabaunsee County's contribution to that project to $74,973.50; the total project allotment was $914,000 with construction costs of $673,704. He said Hungry Hollow Road has a failing low-water crossing slated for repair next week and that pricing is underway for an 8-Mile Road culvert replacement, noting a new multi-plate option would cost about $37,500. "He stressed the importance of leaving the road signs where they are placed on the project. The road signs are installed for the safety of travelers on the roadway," the minutes record.
No formal public opposition was noted in the minutes. The bid acceptances were processed administratively by the Commission during the meeting.
