The Meade County Board of Commissioners met Jan. 5, 2026, at the Meade County Courthouse and approved three highway permits (1-12-25, 2-12-25 and 3-12-25) after a motion by Commissioner Janna Frydendall and a second from Commissioner Randy Leis; the motion carried 3-0. County Clerk Amber Holsted presented abatement requests numbered 008 through 014, and the board voted to approve them as presented.
The board also approved minutes from Dec. 15, payroll from Dec. 19, and warrants dated Dec. 31 that together total $138,801.71 across multiple funds (General: $37,199.22; Road & Bridge: $13,311.51; Noxious Weed: $47,754.20; Health: $10,319.73; among others). Commissioners authorized a 10-minute executive session for personnel and approved a motion to allow discussion of a wage increase with the effective date to be determined.
