Grant County approves $34,900 civic center lighting contract; $10,000 from grants

Civic Center Manager Marilea Honstead presented three bids for lighting work at the Civic Center and Tractor Pull area: Dave's Electric quoted $41,500; Goossen Electric quoted $23,400 for the parking-lot work and $11,500 for the Tractor Pull area. Honstead said she secured two $5,000 grants (CoBank Sharing and HUGS via Pioneer Electric) that would offset part of the cost.
The board voted unanimously to accept the two Goossen Electric quotes totaling $34,900. The commissioners directed that $24,900 be paid from County Building funds and $10,000 be paid from the two grants. Work and procurement will proceed under the approved funding split.
