Commissioners approve After Prom donations and $3,000 fair concert from Alcohol Fund

Representatives from the After Prom Committee and students described the event as a drug- and alcohol-free post-prom gathering that provides a safe night of games and entertainment. The board approved donating $20 per student to be paid from the Alcohol Fund and extended the same amount for Wakefield High School and Clifton/Clyde High School students who reside on the Clay County side.
Fair Board President Mike Argo updated the board on the Event Center and parking-lot asphalt issues that await warmer weather. Argo said he signed a contract with the band Fast Times for the free Friday-night concert during the Clay County Fair (July 20–25, 2026). Commissioners approved paying $3,000 for the band from the Alcohol Fund; the board also agreed to serve as judges for the 4‑H parade.
