The Jewell County Commissioners approved a slate of routine financial and governance actions during their July 7, 2025 meeting, including a quarterly write-off and multiple appointments and abatements.
The board unanimously approved a quarterly write-off totaling $17,865.47 for July 2025 after Commissioner Ervin Underwood moved the measure and Commissioner Brent Beck seconded. The meeting minutes recorded unanimous passage. Commissioners also reappointed Kendall Nelson and Steve Greene for another term on the Jewell County Hospital Board after a motion by Ed Duskie and second by Brent Beck; that motion also passed unanimously.
Brent Beck moved and Ervin Underwood seconded approval of resolutions 25-07 and 25-08; the motions passed unanimously. Ed Duskie moved, and Ervin Underwood seconded approval of tax abatement numbers 2622, 2623, 2624, 2625, 2626 and 2627; that motion passed unanimously as well. The board approved the June 30, 2025 commissioner minutes (motion by Brent Beck, seconded by Ervin Underwood).
The meeting record shows no recorded dissent on these actions. The commissioners also reviewed a vendor quote from Jackson Glass Shop and requested a second quote before moving forward on that purchase.
