McCook County convened as the Drainage Commission and heard from Drainage Administrator Mic Kreutzfeldt about permit D24-005, filed by Bryce and Madelyn Rabenhorst for a parcel in Section 23-104-56. Kreutzfeldt reported that the required downstream landowner signature (Pearl Township) had been obtained and that he had signed off on the application. Commissioner Dean Koch moved to cancel the September 5 drainage hearing; the motion carried.
County staff and commissioners also discussed broader drainage challenges, noting that roads were engineered 70โ80 years ago and were not designed for contemporary drainage demands, providing context for how drainage permits are evaluated.
