Commissioners approve $1.5M pay order for CR 17, OK $227K for CR 38; five-year plan hearing set

"Motion by Knock, second by Sass to approve pay order #4 for County Road 17. The pay order is for $1,512,483.56 payable to Asphalt Paving & Materials Company," the record shows. Commissioners also approved "Pay ap #3 for County Road 38 in the amount of $226,964.08 payable to Halme, Inc." on a motion by Schlagel and second by Knock.
The board voted to allow HS Eggleston to call for bids for aggregate for asphalt surfaces, trucking and material and set a public hearing on the Five Year Road and Bridge Plan for 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 17, 2024. Highway Superintendent Adam Polley later updated commissioners that patching over culverts is complete, spot patching and leveling on the southern 12 miles will be performed, and mat application and asphalt laying on County Road 17 are scheduled in September with a projected completion date of October 15, 2024.
The actions move two active construction contracts forward and create a formal public-review point for the county's five-year planning process. No dissenting votes were recorded; motions carried with all commissioners voting aye.
