During executive session on personnel matters the Board approved starting wages of $23/hour for newly hired certified deputies Kimberly Berry and Kyle Elder, citing credit for prior experience. Sheriff Mark Norris, present for the personnel discussion, said it was difficult to recruit and retain deputies, stating, "it’s hard to get applicants and when you do it’s hard to keep them due to low wages."
Earlier, Highway Superintendent Travis Raap requested promotion of Dillon Warren to Road Foreman effective with the next pay period at $23.49/hour; the Board approved that promotion. In a later personnel motion the Board accepted the resignation letter from Cori Kaufmann, Director of Equalization and Zoning Administrator, effective October 8, 2024.
