Drake re-elected chair; Zerfoss chosen vice chair of Beadle County Commission

Auditor Jill Hanson called for nominations; Commissioner Zerfoss nominated Drake, and the board closed nominations and instructed the auditor to cast a unanimous vote for Drake.
The board recorded the vote as carried after commissioners moved and seconded the procedural motions. The organizational actions were among the first items on the Jan. 13 agenda as the commission began its 2026 business, and proceedings continued with routine approvals of minutes and the meeting agenda.
