Health Department cleared to buy new Tacoma; schedules health fair and outreach events

Commissioner Jake Liebau moved and Commissioner Perry Russell seconded to allow Kandy Dowell to purchase a 2025 Toyota Tacoma for the Health Department in the amount of $37,149.95 from Doenges Toyota; the motion carried 3-0.
Dowell also told the board the Health Fair will be Oct. 18, 2025 at First Assembly of God and that the Health Department will staff a booth at the Bash on Wabash on May 29, 2025, providing ID kits, bike helmets and car-seat distribution; she reported seven participants are enrolled in a diabetes class in Moline.
