Town to merge POCD and strategic‑plan surveys; oversight committee to vet questions

Town planner Shannon Rutherford reviewed coordination with the town council and consultant Weston & Sampson to combine the plan of conservation and development (POCD) survey with the town strategic‑plan survey. The consolidated survey will be posted mid‑October and remain open for six to eight weeks; the oversight group (two town council members, two TPZ members, one BOE representative and staff) will meet several times in September to craft and vet survey questions.
Rutherford said the consultant will host a POCD page with updates and that the town will use a range of outreach tactics — QR codes, Everbridge, libraries, senior center, school PTOs and print copies on request — to boost participation. The survey is intended to inform both the 10‑year POCD and the town's two‑year strategic plan. Commissioners discussed distribution channels and volunteered to help with outreach.
