Road maintenance was a focal topic during the June 23 session. Joel Elkins reported ongoing road concerns and said he had received a phone call from Dwight Frost who described 50 Road as "the smoothest it has been in years." Commissioner Ed Duskie told Elkins the two blocks leading up to the railroad tracks in Montrose need grading or additional rock.
Commissioner Ervin Underwood raised a separate drainage issue, saying water crossing the road east of Lane Underwoods is making that stretch very rough. Duskie also reported that the John Deere operation center can remote in to check error codes on the county’s new mowing tractor at no cost, potentially reducing equipment downtime.
