County Coordinator Kris Marple had presented two bids during the meeting: Green Law Office bid $60,000 and Cherilyn Hearn bid $54,000. The commissioners discussed the bids during the Coordinator’s report before taking the formal vote.
The contract covers indigent defense services for Wilson County for calendar year 2026; the board did not specify additional contract terms during the public minutes. The decision followed approval of several other routine agenda items earlier in the session.
The board is scheduled to reconvene Nov. 5, 2025. There were no public comments recorded opposing the contract award during the Oct. 22 meeting.
