Jury approves $13,671 change order, 10-day extension for Caplis Sligo bank stabilization

Parish Engineer Eric Hudson reported that Change Order No. 1 for Project No. 2025-125, Caplis Sligo Red Chute Bank Stabilization, increases the contract by $13,671.12 and adds 10 days to the project schedule to extend additional riprap and tie into existing slopes. Hudson said the bank had encroached onto the road for many years and that the work represents a 50/50 cost split with the Levee Board.
Jurors approved the change order and adopted a resolution authorizing the Parish Administrator or Parish President to execute documents. Hudson told jurors he had discussed the extension with a downstream neighboring landowner and that the riprap addition responds to those concerns.
